VICTOR HUGO (POMME D'OR HOTEL)
Victor Hugo, French poet, playwright and author went in to exile from France and during that time stayed in both Jersey and Guernsey. On his arrival in Jersey on 5th August 1852 he stayed at the Pomme D'Or Hotel. The plaque reads:- "VICTOR HUGO FRENCH POET, PLAYWRIGHT AND AUTHOR STAYED AT THE POMME D'OR HOTEL ON HIS ARRIVAL IN JERSEY 5TH AUG 1852" ![]() |
