VICTOR HUGO (POMME D'OR HOTEL)
(Situated on the wall to the right of the main entrance to the hotel)
Victor Hugo, French poet, playwright and author went in to exile from France and during that time stayed in both Jersey and Guernsey. On his arrival in Jersey on 5th August 1852 he stayed at the Pomme D'Or Hotel. For more information on Victor Hugo please click here. (opens in new window).
The plaque reads:- "VICTOR HUGO FRENCH POET, PLAYWRIGHT AND AUTHOR STAYED AT THE POMME D'OR HOTEL ON HIS ARRIVAL IN JERSEY 5TH AUG 1852"
